The route chosen for this expedition will include some of the most dramatic and breathtaking scenery anywhere in the world. The “big wall” region near Clyde River, Baffin Island in the Canadian Eastern Arctic draws expeditioners, climbers, BASE jumpers and skiers from all over the world. Sheer granite rock walls, some over three thousand feet high, guard the entrances to magical deep fiords, including Sam Ford Fiord, Walker Arm and Stewart Valley. Under constant daylight, every day will bring new terrain, adventures and challenges. This truly is one of the wildest and most remote areas of Baffin Island.

Expedition will begin with drop off by snowmobile and komatik (wooden sled) to a specific drop off/starting point. The route will include river valleys, glaciers, spectacular glacier calved valleys, frozen lakes and fiords and moraine fields. The expedition will culminate with the team skiing back into the small Inuit community. Final night in Clyde River will be in either hotel or homestay.

Daily schedule will be weather and participant dependent. All members must be physically fit, have previous wilderness travel experience and capable of pulling small gear/supplies sled for two weeks.

Expedition members will pull their own small sleds (pulks) for the duration of the expedition and will be expected to share in camp duties such as setting tents and cooking.
