Pond Inlet Baffin Island
Located in the eastern arctic at the northern end of Baffin Island, the community of Pond Inlet is the point of departure for this northern adventure. At this latitude we’ll have continuous daylight giving us plenty of opportunity to photograph the mountainous landscape of the region. The area is also rich in birds and other wildlife, including the tusked narwhal whale. The narwhal come to this region each summer to give birth to their calves and feed in the rich ocean waters of this area. With some luck, the ocean will also provide us with some fresh arctic char, considered by many to be the best-tasting fish in the world.
Arctic travel is a unique and deeply textured experience, radically different from the life that most of us lead. The most difficult aspect of this trip is trying to find the words to describe it after you get back home.
