"Oystercatchergirl" says thank you for great kayak tripping!

I am incurably enamored with oystercatchers, so I am working on my umpteenth painting of them. Indeed, I call my studio "Oystercatcher Central".

They are clownish, crow-sized birds with long legs, funny feet, and a "carrot" of a beak, who dabble along the tideline from California to Alaska. Their diet consists primarily of limpets rather than oysters.

My Pacific Rim Paddling trip in Haida Gwaii was oystercatcher heaven! This is one painting of several, inspired by that phenomenal experience (summer 2008), superbly led by Morgan and Hilary.

Here is an older photo of an up and coming kayaker. He is ready for action with a soother plugged in and his action suit on.
