Trip Cancellation/Interruption Insurance: We strongly advise you get trip cancellation, trip interruption and baggage loss insurance for all portions of your trip. You can buy it up until the departure date of your trip, however, you may want to get it sooner, to correspond with when payments and deposits become non-refundable. This covers you in case of illness or accident to you, a family member or travelling companion, and in case of jury duty. Since we are often unable to fill a spot on a trip at the last moment (when these unhappy events often happen), and usually have already pre-paid costs on a trip, to ensure our expenses are met, we must have payment in full no later than 90 days, in some cases 120 days, prior to the trip start date. After this point it becomes non-refundable unless you find someone to take your spot at full price. In addition, there is a $300 cancellation fee if you cancel your booking after you have paid your deposit. Should Pacific Rim Paddling Company need to cancel a trip you are booked on, we will refund your payment to us in full.
Your travel agent may be able to sell travel insurance to you. Some credit card companies and financial institutions offer it, as well as organizations such as CAA (Canadian Automobile Association) and AAA (American Automobile Association). In Canada, the Co-operators are also a good choice.Pacific Rim Paddling Company is not responsible for any and all costs due to inclement weather, mechanical breakdown or failure, other situations beyond it's control or those associated with an evacuation from a trip.
Additional costs and Taxes:
Tour prices are subject to taxes such as an additional 12% HST. Some tours may be partially or totally exempt from these taxes. Though we aim to set and maintain our tour prices for the season as well as to keep them as reasonable as possible, tour prices may change due to changes and increases in expenses, transportation, supplies and unforeseen events and taxation laws.
