Terms & Reservations
A deposit of $300 for each space assures your place on a tour. If you must cancel more that 60 days before you departure date, there is a $250 cancellation fee. The balance, including 7% GST, is due 60 days before the departure date. All participants will be required to sign a medical and release form, which is also due at this time. If you cancel with less that 60 days before departure, we cannot issue a refund unless you can find a replacement to fill your spot. Trip Cancellation Insurance: Because of the increasing number of experiences we and our clients have had over the last few years, we strongly advise you get trip cancellation insurance for all portions of your trip. This covers you in case of illness or accident to you, a family member, or travelling companion, and in case of jury duty. Since we are often unable to fill a spot on a trip at the last moment (when these unhappy events always happen), and usually have already pre-paid costs on a trip, to ensure our expenses are met we must have payment in full by no later than 60 days before the trip-start date, after which point it becomes non-refundable. In addition, a portion of the deposit is also non-refundable. We've had one couple injured in a traffic accident while they were driving to rendezvous with a trip; two people to date have become ill the night before their trip (one appendicitis, one pleurisy); other people's parents have become gravely ill, and one poor woman was subpoenaed as an expert witness. Folks who have had to use this insurance were invariably happy they had bought it, while those who haven't taken the precaution of purchasing insurance beforehand have all too often wished they had. This issue has led to some bad feelings in what were previously happy relationships with some of our clients, so we're trying to be very clear about the situation. You must buy trip cancellation insurance at the time of registration (before you date your deposit cheque), to avoid charges of fraud by the insurance company were you to have to use it. If you get it after you've registered, they suspect pre-existing conditions, which aren't insured for. Your travel agent might sell it to you; also contact such agencies as AAA, BCAA or equivalent. |
